The incorporation of sustainable building ideas such as green building and energy efficiency is an integral part of Dolphie’s design methodology. I implement these concepts through climatically responsive layouts, waste reduction principles, and natural day lighting.
The sustainable design process recognises that building materials and the energy required to extract or create them are not infinite and must be carefully considered during all aspects of the design and construction – and even post construction. Additionally, a sustainable building incorporates natural systems from daylight to fresh air, providing a superior environment for the occupants as well as a better long-term contribution to the surrounding environment.
Architectural elements, such as the consistent, careful inclusion of natural lighting and solar control elements, along with the sensitive selection of the interior materials and colour palettes, contribute to the quality of the indoor environment for the occupants.
Energy efficiencies, from the proper engineering of the building systems along with artificial lighting and control systems designs, are integrated through the inclusion of the expertise of various related consultants, brought together at the start of the planning and design processes to contribute to a unified architectural solution
I am committed to supporting a diverse culture of sustainable design through research and professional development. I believe that by using my talents creatively, I can maximise the benefits of my projects and minimise negative impacts on the environment. My commitment to conducting my operations in an environmentally and socially responsible manner governs both my professional practice and my workplace.
